About Me

I went on holidays to the South of France summer 09 to sample the good life there and also get some surf in. On my journey home i stopped off at Hossegor and bought two Stand Up Paddleboards. Since then I've had some great fun and trips on them. In an effort to progress looking to meet up with fellow paddlers !

this account may help somebody who wants to do a trip :
3 Mar 10 Went out a short trip in HOWTH to introduce SUP to a friend. We met up at the MARINE hotel, SUTTON CROSS, to decide where to go. The weather was not great, with the wind at 15 knots I decided that we should go to HOWTH harbour. The decision turned out to be a good one. We got in at the jetty beside the RNLI STATION and just did a flat water session. The wind was still moderate but the harbour gives good shelter. As Gary, a natural waterman grew more confident by the minute I introduced him to the swell just off the nose of the harbour. Not only did get a taste of the scenery on offer but he also tasted some of the salt water before he managed to get himself on his knees back to the safety of the harbour.
In summary HOWTH harbour is a great place for some flatwater SUP. Easy access, sheltered area , great scenery and plenty of cafes, shops, pubs for the après SUP.
