In 1964 Kevin Cavey introduced surfing to Ireland from Hawaii. Today the surf culture that he pioneered is going strong in Dublin. "The Dimming Tide" follows Kevin and three other Leinster surfers; Frank Gordon, Chris O'Neill and Tim Ferguson as they surf the waves of the East Coast of Ireland and share the experiences of their diverse surfing lives. This is Grandpa Surf, a film about Kevin Cavey, the Grandfather of Irish Surfing, one of the first to start surfing here. It was made for an assignment in the Video Production subject in Griffith College Dublin.
