Just in from the UK.

BSUPA in association with Sunset Surf in Gwithian proudly present a festival of SUP on 17th & 18th July.

More details will follow on the BSUPA link but put the date in your diary.

TheBSUPA have been keen to hold a fun festival weekend for all levels of Stand Up Paddlers. There are no set races or surf comps its just a gathering of paddlers. There will be demo boards available, plus on water coaching by BSUPA coaches & instructors. Plus Dry land paddle clinics etc.

Saturday evening sees a band & a BBQ at the Sunset cafe. This is the first festival of SUP so come along & join in the spirit on what has to be one of the UK's most stunning beaches. Thereis no charge for the water based activity & it really is for everylevel of SUPer, - its a weekend to spread the stoke in a competition free environment

For Accomodation check the following

www.gwithianfarm.co.uk - campsite

www.churchtownfarm.org/uk - campsite

www.atlanticcoastpark.co.uk - static caravans

www.travelodge.co.uk/hayle - cheap family rooms 3 minute drive from the beach

www.premierinn.com/hayle - less cheap family rooms but good

Those that are hardened van dwellers - you are not officially allowed to park overnight in the carpark however...

More details to follow but it would be great to see you there.

Check out www.sunsetsurfshop.co.uk web cam if you have not been there before

We will be respectful of the local surf community but there is so muchspace at this beach for SUPers to have plenty of room for waves. if its flat - who cares - thats the beauty of SUP - see you there.

Right, am beginning to give this some thought, found flights from dublin to newquay at 166.00 EUR all in [20kg bag allowance] and its cornwall and its an hour from newquay to the where the SUP fest is being held, car hire if needed is 195 for the 4 days anyone interested?

well bear in mind that there will be boards for free demos etc there, the other way is to take irish ferries from rosslare to pembroke then drive to gwithian which is 5 hours on the AA route planner, and they have camping on the beachj
